The device will run Android 4.0 or higher, and the body will be much thinner compared to the 10.1 mm thickness on the previous model.

IFA 2012 Rumours: SONY to unveal Xperia quad-core tablet  with keyboard cover like the MS Surface.

The Xperia Tablet will be equipped with a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 3G connectivity and 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. 

The slate will feature a 6,000 mAh battery that will supply roughly 10 hours of Wi-Fi browsing, and run Android 4.0 “or later.” 

The images also reveal that Sony is planning to introduce a new keyboard cover that resembles Microsoft’s Surface tablet cover. (pictured below)

The “suggested retail price” of the cover is $99.99, while the tablet itself will start at $449.99. It is speculated that Sony may unveil the Xperia Tablet at next month’s IFA trade show in Berlin on August 31st.
